| A Brief History The Mountain Valley Medical Clinic opened its doors during the summer of 1976. From its inception, the Clinic has been and remains a community effort. In 1972 a group of area residents, recognizing the need for improved and expanded health care in Londonderry and adjacent towns, founded the Mountain Valley Health Council. The council focused the energy and enthusiasm of the community and, after four years of tireless effort, they were able to generate widespread grassroots support and raise sufficient funds to open the Clinic's doors to the public. In the beginning, the Mountain Valley Medical Clinic (MVMC) was staffed with one physician, a nurse practitioner, and a secretary. In the nearly three decades since then, valuable staff and services have been added to ensure continued quality care for the entire family, including pediatric and internal medicine. MVMC also offers the following on-site support services: physical therapy, comprehensive laboratory, x-ray, bone densitometry, and thanks to a close relationship with Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad, we can provide comprehensive pre-hospital emergency care.
For over thirty years, MVMC has provided superb health care to all, regardless of their ability to pay. The Clinic continues to be a model for high quality health care with a personalized touch. Because of its unwavering commitment to unqualified treatment. MVMC depends on the
continued generosity and support of members and organizations of the community
as well as the dedication and leadership of its volunteer Board of Directors
and a committed team of medical and administrative professionals. |
