The laboratory at Mountain Valley Medical Clinic maintains a federal CLIA license with 'Highly Complex Testing' status, the same regulatory body that oversees other clinic and hospital laboratories throughout Vermont and across the nation. Maintaining this license requires that MVMC must adhere to strict quality control measures and record keeping on a daily basis, as well as demonstrating staff proficiencies in all areas of lab testing three times a year.

In December 2008, the MVMC lab received a random inspection from a CLIA surveyor and the result was deemed that MVMC was in full compliance with ZERO deficiencies. In fact, MVMC has received no deficiencies over the past ten years that current Lab Manager Robert Litchfield M.T., (ASCP) has been employed at MVMC, an accomplishment not many laboratories can claim and a point of pride here at MVMC.

"Random laboratory inspections challenge the entire lab staff to adhere to the highest of standards on a daily basis" states Dr Roger Fox, current Lab Director. "We feel one lab error is an error too many as we strive for perfection. The entire staff should be commended on their professionalism and commitment to providing quality patient care and dependable lab results which assists in clinical decision making by MVMC providers".

Other lab staff includes Courtney Barton and Carol Carroccio.
