Bone Density Testing & Osteoporosis Management

The most recent addition to the ancillary services at MVMC is the state of the art Digital Bone Densitometer and Osteoporosis program added in August, 2008.

In response to requests from the community, MVMC is proud to be able to provide the area?s newest and greatest bone densitometer as well as nationally certified physicians to interpret the results and manage a very common disease, Osteoporosis (a.k.a. Brittle Bone Disease).

Bone density testing is a quick and painless scan typically performed as a screening tool as patients reach their 50s or have a family history of Osteoporosis. New and effective advances in treating Osteoporosis have also increased awareness and requests for bone scanning have become more popular.

Scans are offered by appointment and upon provider request.
